I believe that Jeremy Pivin had mercury poisoning. The article explains that mercury poisoning can come from eating seafood. Since Jeremy was on a diet to only eat seafood, he most likely got mercury poisoning. The article also claims that mercury poisoning can be received from herbal medicines. Jeremy also used Chinese herbs for medical reasons which might have caused him to be sick with the disease.

I believe that Jeremy Pivin was not mercury poison because it states, " The nervous system effects are what someone would see first." He did not have any symptoms occurring like chemical or physical change. It also states that, "A person with no symptoms, no changes physically or chemically, we just say they've been exposed and have a high mercury level." This means that he was only exposed to it not poisoned. Mercury has symptoms to it it would be obvious if he was poisoned but being expose to means that your poisoned it says, "You can build up a blood or tissue level but not yet manifest symptoms related to poisoning."

Jeremey Pelvin did not have mercury poisoning, he just had mercury exposure. He did not go through any chemical or physical changes. The doctor stated,"he has levels five to six times higher than normal". So he wasn't having respiratory problems. In Mercury exposure vs. mercury poisoning it stated, "no changes physically or chemically, we just say they've been exposed". So their it shows that he was only exposed.

In my opinion I believe that Jeremy didn't have mercury poisoning he was only exposed to mercury the reason why I believe this is because in the article it sates that the symptoms of mercury poising are problems with the kidneys, problems when it comes to urinating, and feeling out of whack because of renal dysfunction. Whic in Jeremy's case he didn't have any if these symptoms that is why I believe he wasn't poised

In the article "What is Mercury Poisoning?" The author describes between mercury poisoning and mercury exposure. "Just because you're exposed to a toxin doesn't mean you get poisoned. You can built up a blood or tissue level but not yet manifest symptoms related to poisoning." In this quote the author says that if you're near a toxin it doesn't mean that you are in harm or you get poisoned. "A person with no symptoms, no changes physically or chemically, we just say they've been exposed and have a high mercury level." Jeremy Piven realized he had high levels of exposure but didn't have any symptoms.

The author claims that mercury is a lot dangerous than people assume and isn't taken seriously enough. In the scientific American Article "Mercury Poisoning", when David Mamet said Jeremy Piven must be a thermometer for discovering his high levels of mercury the author says "insensitive comments like that are not only unkind and unfair, they reflect a profound lack of understanding of a problem that can actually kill" this quote reveals the authors frustration with society's lack of respect forwards the danger of mercury. When the doctors checked Jeremy Pivens mercury levels they said they were "un characteristically high, one of the highest.." This quote shows that what was considered a joking matters by others what actually a serious problem and how although it wasn't token seriously at first turned out to be really serious.

I think Jeremy Piven had mercury poisoning because the doctor found high levels of mercury in his body. According to the article the doctor blames a mercury-rich sushi diet and herbal medicine. The fish when it is exposed to contaminated water or they are close to the industry they are contaminated, because the chemicals that drop off are toxic and contain mercury and then when the food chain is ongoing they'll become more and more toxic and have more mercury. He also used herbal medicines. The combination of sushi (which contain mercury) and herbal medicine (which don't controlled by the FDA) do that more lethal for the health and then these two things mixed produced high levels of mercury and his mercury poisoning.

Jeremy Piven had mercury exposure, not mercury poisoning, because he didn't show any signs of mercury poisoning. There was a question on how Jeremy Piven acquired the high level of Mercury in his body. "The etiology is unclear, but his level of mercury was uncharacteristically high, one of the highest we've seen." His diet was blamed for the high mercury level which is the mercury-rich diet found in all the fish he eats and the possible use of herbal medicines like the Chinese herbs which are not FDA approved. Despite the high mercury level in his body, Piven did not show any signs or symptoms of poisoning as presented in the literature. "It doesn't become poisoning unless someone has had physical or chemical change in his body." There were no symptoms that were observed from Piven so he was just exposed and his threshold was high. Removing the possible causes of high mercury level in his body will help him lower the mercury level by having a fish free diet and stopping the herbal medicine intake.

I would assume that Jeremy is fine, sense there is no specific details on the illness that he had expect that he had high levels of mercury. In the article, it said," if the symptoms just started and you haven't been exposed for years and years, it is very possible that those symptoms will dissipate." The article had never said anything about Jeremy having been exposed for long periods of time. Only that the symptoms occurred and had never ever, at once forever say that he was damaged physically nor chemically. The article also states that if you were exposed for years then you would have been damage ether physically or chemically. So yea. I agree with you because Jeremy doesn't need any treatments for the high level of mercury he has inside of him. He just needs to change is diet.

In the article "What is Mecury Poisoning", the main idea of this article is explaining what is mercury poisoning is. In the article, it states "That organic mercury acts very similarly to the elemental form. It affects a lot of nervous system damage". This a side affect of organic mercury, when mercury gets in the food chain and is consumed. In the article, it states,"Unfortunely in mercury, symptoms can look like many disease states. When levels are building up, there could be a variety of symptoms that a physician may interpret as another illness". Mercury may also look like other disease/illnesses which can be problems if constantly exposed to it and can be very fatal and takes a lot of time to heal from.

In the article What is Mercury Poisoning? by Scientific America, the author states that Jeremy Piven has received mercury poisoning. The article begins to talk about the symptoms shown when an individual is mercury poisoned, " mercuric salts the person has been poisoned by, it may just be a problem with the kidneys, issues with the ability to urinate, or they're feeling out of whack because of renal dysfunction... elemental mercury, that can show up as an upper respiratory illness, like a flu, at first..." This is stating that a person who has been poisoned by mercury would show signs of illness, impaired abilities, etc. Through these facts, Jeremy does not have mercury poisoning due to the fact that none of these symptoms are visible on him.
